Speak Japanese! Have fun learning Japanese conversation at Iidabashi Japanese Language School, Tokyo.

Japanese Slang! How to say “replying to someone’s email immediately” in Japanese? “Soku-resu  即レス”

Meaning:

An instant response during an email exchange. Conversely, a delayed response is called an “oso-resu” or“kame-resu.”

Soku 即 means instant
Kame 亀 is turtle in Japanese

Japanese Example:

(in an email reply to a friend)

「即レスありがとう!じゃあ、今週の土曜日に会おうね~(^O^)/」

soku resu arigatou! Jaa konshu no doyobi ni aoune(^O^)/

English Translation:

Thanks for the soku-resu! OK, see you this Saturday…(^O^)/
